George H. Greeney Jr.

George H. Greeney Jr., 69, of Troy, IL., born December 27, 1946 in Omaha, Neb., died Saturday, April 30, 2016, in St. Louis, Mo.

George served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict.  He was a member of the VFW Post 976 Troy, IL.   He loved his family and he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

He was proceded in death by his parents, George H. Sr., and Amelia F., nee Sweigard, Greeney.

Surviving are his wife Lindola, nee Moore, Greeney of Troy, IL;  a son William G. Greeney of Troy; two sisters, Kathleen (Garold) Cavaness of Fenton, MO., and Carol Greeney of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; a nephew Steven (Brandy) Cavaness; and a great-niece and nephew, Amelia and Logan Cavaness.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles West officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.
