John Eugene Grogan, 38, of Topeka, KS, died July 2, 1984 at a Houston, TX, hospital.  He had been ill with cancer for more than two years.  He was born in Vinton, IA, June 24, 1946, the son of Harvey and Frances Taylor Grogan.  He grew up around Raymondville and graduated from Houston High School in 1964.  He was married to Mary Ellen Shaughnessy, July 3, 1975 in Topeka.  He worked for Federal Home Loan Bank in Topeka for several years.  Survivors are his wife, Mary Ellen, sons Michael and David of the home in Topeka; his mother, Frances Davis of Cabool; one sister Elaine Broughton of Branson, and his grandmother, Nina Jones of Cabool.  Services were at the First Southern Baptist Church in Topeka, of which he was a member, with burial following in the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
