Betty Massey (Roderick)

 Betty Roderick, daughter of Lyle and Laura (Denton) Massey, was born November 18, 1946 in Huggins, MO. She went home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2014 at her home with her husband by her side at the age of 67.

      Betty attended the Number One Elementary School and graduated from Houston High School in 1964. She married her childhood sweetheart Wayne Roderick on May 29, 1964 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. To this union three children were born, Kevin Roderick, Keith Roderick and Kris Roderick.

      She lived many different places over the years including Springfield, MO, Kansas City, MO, Fairfield, IL, Camp Douglas, WI, Spring City, TN, Bangkok, Thailand, Sandspring, OK and Upton, MO. She was a loving Christian woman with a beautiful spirit and made many friends wherever she went.

      Her passions were her children and grandchildren. She loved to go camping, crochet, gardening, arts and crafts and making beaded jewelry. She was known for her homemade pies and candies, especially her peanut brittle.

      Betty is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Massey.

      She is survived by her husband, Wayne Roderick of Upton, MO, her three sons, Kevin and wife Mary of Cabool, MO, Keith and wife Arlene of Columbia, MO and Kris of Huggins, MO; one brother, Gary Massey of Huggins, MO; two sisters, Tammy Richardson of Success, MO, and Ina Kalina of Boron, CA; and seven grandchildren, Lorraina Roderick, Karla Roderick, Amy Roderick, Austin Roderick, Kirstin Roderick, Ava Roderick and Alycia Roderick.

      She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
