So odd that it took 2 years to hear about Don's passing.  He was a good friend when I first moved to Houston. At  one point, he lived next door to Scot Rust, and we played bball in the alley on Scot's basket. Most folks don't realize that Don was a good athlete.  He wanted to be a qb and had a great accurate arm.  But ol' Billie V never gave him a chance.  He had to be a lineman because of his size and shape.  He quit football after one year because of that.  Serious dating and getting married while still in school also took Don out of the group.  I think we all lost track of him after high school.  But I still remember he was my friend.

Vernon is sad to learn of this also.  Funny that it wasn't in the Houston, MO newspaper at the time of his passing in 2017.  Certainly the funeral home would have done that.  Maybe the funeral home can give us the names & addresses of his daughters so appropriate sympathies can be extended.  THANKS!
